Implants

Implants are metal structures made of pure titanium or titanium alloys that are placed into the jawbone of patients who have lost their teeth.

Recently, apart from metal implants, zirconium-based (white) implants are also used in aesthetic areas.

Implants

Implants aim to restore the chewing function of patients by replacing lost teeth with prostheses made on them.

Although implants are a common treatment, they are not suitable for every patient.

Implant treatments are risky and may result in failure in patients with some systemic disorders, excessive smoking, poor oral hygiene and patients who do not have healthy gums.

At the same time, implant placement may not be possible in cases where the bone level in the area where the implant will be placed is insufficient.

In which cases can implants be performed?

Depending on the condition of the bone and the area to be implanted, implants can be performed in cases of single or multiple tooth loss as well as complete edentulous cases. The types and brands of implants to be made are decided by the doctors according to the patient's condition. While making this decision, panoramic x-ray examination is generally sufficient, in some cases patients need to have a tomography.

Can patients with no teeth have implants?

In patients who have no teeth left in their mouths, if the bone structure is suitable and other conditions are met, 6-8-10 implants can be placed in the upper and lower jaws and fixed restorations can be made on them as if they were the patient's own teeth.

Again, in all edentulous patients, if the posterior regions are not suitable for implant placement, fixed restorations can be made with the methods called All-on-4 and All-on-6, even on implants that can be made in small numbers with specially developed implants and fittings.

In all edentulous patients whose bone structure and conditions are such that only 2-4 implants can be placed in each jaw, the implants placed are used to increase the retention of removable prostheses. In this way, patients whose removable prosthesis moves during eating and speaking live a much more comfortable life.
