Orthodontic treatment with clear aligners /Invisalign:
Also known as wire-free orthodontics or invisible braces.
Special transparent plastic-like materials, called as aligners, are used for the treatment. In this way, they are easily preferred in patients with nickel-like metal allergies.
After the digital measurements of the patients are taken, the treatment is performed with specially prepared transparent aligners. Each aligner is worn for at least 20 - 22 hours a day for 1-3 weeks. The patient removes the aligners for meals and tooth brushing.
The aligners are designed to gradually move the teeth according to the orthodontist's treatment plan until the desired alignment is achieved. The duration of the treatment varies for each patient.
In the majority of cases, some changes are difficult to accomplish with just aligners alone. For this reason, small ‘bumps’ called attachments, are used to give the correct movement to the teeth which needs complex corrections. Attachments work as an anchor point to help direct the force of the aligner in a more effective and predictable way. Attachments made with composite filling material on the tooth surface. They do not interfere with brushing and are removed after treatment.
Clear aligner treatment is a treatment method that can be used easily in every age group. It is a very comfortable treatment method especially for patients with aesthetic concerns and young age group patients.
